Midfielder Marvin Youngman has rejoined Soltilo Bright Stars following the expiration of his two-year contract with Vipers SC.
Youngman, who initially left Bright Stars in 2022 to sign for the Kitende-based side, is making a return to the club where his career blossomed, bringing with him valuable experience gained from his time away.
During his tenure at Vipers, Youngman enjoyed considerable success, notably helping the club secure the domestic double in 2023.
Now back at his former side, the midfielder expressed excitement about returning to his football roots.
“It feels amazing to be back. Soltilo Bright Stars is home for me, and I’m ready to give everything on the pitch and fight for the badge once again,” Youngman stated in his first interview with the club’s media team.
Bright Stars welcomed Youngman with an emotional unveiling video shared on their official Facebook page, set to Alphaville’s nostalgic hit “Forever Young.”
The video captures Youngman’s homecoming and includes the message; “Some stories are best when told twice… He left but the stars called him back. He looks happy to be here. He’s here and he’s perfect.”
For the midfielder, his time away from Bright Stars has been enriching, and he returns with renewed focus.
“I’ve learned a lot over the past two seasons, and I’m eager to bring that experience back to Soltilo Bright Stars,” Youngman stated, emphasizing his desire to help the team succeed in the coming season.
Youngman has also previously featured in the Masaza Cup tournament for Bulemeezi and Busujju, as well as for Hima FC.
Bright Stars will kick off their new campaign with an away fixture against Wakiso Giants at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium on Sunday, September 15.
Alongside Youngman’s return, the club has extended contracts for goalkeeper Derrick Were and defender Fiat Cleophus, with John Lincoln Mukisa being the only new signing announced so far.
