EPL 2024/25: Manchester United Secure Second League Win

Manchester United made an impressive return to the 2024-25 Premier League season with a convincing 3-0 victory over Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium.

The Red Devils who started the match slowly saw goals from Matthijs de Ligt, Marcus Rashford, and Alejandro Garnacho sealing the win.

The victory marks United’s second league win of the season, following their opening-day triumph over Fulham.

Despite a bright start from Southampton, the match turned in United’s favour when goalkeeper Andre Onana saved a penalty from Cameron Archer.

The Red Devils then capitalized on their momentum, with de Ligt heading home a corner from Bruno Fernandes to give United the lead. Rashford added a second goal shortly before halftime, finishing off a well-worked move.

In the second half, United continued to control the game, with Garnacho scoring a late goal after Jack Stephens was sent off for a dangerous challenge.

Manchester United will now turn their attention to their upcoming fixtures, including a Carabao Cup match against Barnsley and a Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.
