The dates for the 2024 TotalEnergies CHAN tournament have been confirmed. The continental competition for players based in their respective countries will be held from February 1st to 28th, 2025, across East Africa.
Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania will share hosting duties for the 7th edition of the CHAN and this will act as a precursor to the AFCON 2027 tournament which the three countries will co-host.
A total of 18 nations, including the three hosts, will vie for the title in a tournament that will see matches played in Nairobi, Kampala, and Dar es Salaam.
The tournament’s group stage draw will be conducted at a later date. Uganda will host two groups of three teams each, while Kenya will host one group of four countries. Tanzania will also host two groups of four teams each.
To ensure a successful hosting of the CHAN, each host country is required to have at least one fully accredited stadium and four training venues.
Uganda will utilize Namboole Stadium, which has undergone significant renovations and recently hosted matches for neighboring countries Kenya and Zimbabwe during the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
