Vipers top officials are not happy with the club’s head coach Nikola Kovazovic NBS Sport has learnt.
The Venoms have had a mixture of results in the Uganda Premier League so far with the latest being a goalless draw against newly promoted Lugazi on Thursday.
Before the stalemate against Lugazi, Vipers had lost their season opener 3-1 away to table leaders NEC in Lugogo while they defeated Express 3-0 at Kitende.
In the aftermath of the defeat against NEC, Kovazovic noted that his target was Vipers finishing in the top three which contradicts his bosses’ annual ambition of winning the UPL.
A close source to the club told this reporter that one of the bosses at the club was not convinced with the substitutions made during these above games and the coach’s post match comments in general.
Not even the victory over Express could bring a sigh of relief given that beyond the win, the display of the team was not as good.
A win over Lugazi who are yet to win any game this season was a non-negotiable but the Venoms were held and this further angered the club owners, NBS Sport has been told.
There was a meeting after the defeat to NEC where a case of improving the performance of the team was discussed at length and it is said that there will once again be another meeting.
The Serbian could be living on borrowed time at Kitende if his relationship with his employers continues to deteriorate given that they are never shy of hiring and firing managers.
Vipers’ next game is home fixture against the UPL reigning champions Villa on Saturday, October 5.
