Fiyore Sports Club delivered a commanding 4-0 win over QC Mbarara on Friday evening, clinching the last available spot in the Futsal Uganda Cup Round of 16.
The Somali-based team put on an impressive display, scoring three goals in the opening 12 minutes and leaving their opponents with little hope of a comeback.
The match began with an explosive start from Fiyore, as Osman Sanqol netted the opener within minutes.
The team’s relentless attacking continued, with Mohammed Gaabow and Abdiweli Sabca quickly adding to the tally.
By the 12th minute, Fiyore were already 3-0 up, stunning QC Mbarara and putting them on the back foot early on.
QC Mbarara struggled to regain control, with their defensive line unable to withstand Fiyore’s pressure.
In a bid to stop the onslaught, QC manager Mohammed Ssembatya made a triple substitution, bringing on Gibran Ndukukire, Idi Babu, and Vincent Abigaba.
This tactical shift helped QC control possession for brief periods, but they were unable to break down Fiyore’s solid defence.
Despite QC Mbarara’s increased possession and efforts to change the flow of the game, Fiyore remained in control.
Their defence was resolute, thwarting any attacks that QC could muster.
The match was effectively sealed midway through the second half when Ahmed Thomas scored a well-executed counter-attack goal, finding the bottom-right corner to make it 4-0.
Fiyore’s victory sees them progress to the Round of 16, where they will face Lubaga Grameen Youth in a highly anticipated match.
With this win, they join 15 other teams that have already secured their places in the next stage of the competition.
The next round promises thrilling matchups as teams battle for a place in the quarterfinals.
