AFCON 2025 Qualifiers Match Day Three Preview

As the third matchday of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifiers approaches, the continent’s footballing nations are gearing up for crucial clashes that will determine their fate in the race to Morocco.

With 24 fixtures scheduled across 12 groups, the stakes are high as teams battle it out for a coveted spot in Africa’s premier football tournament.

Group A sees Tunisia leading the charge with a perfect record, while Madagascar and Gambia remain winless. The clash between Madagascar and Gambia could prove pivotal for both teams’ survival in the group.

Morocco has established itself as a dominant force in Group B, having secured two victories. Gabon and Lesotho, both still searching for their first points, will face off in a must-win encounter.

Egypt continues its impressive run in Group C, but Mauritania, currently in second place, will be looking to upset the Pharaohs.

Cape Verde Islands and Botswana are also vying for points in their quest for qualification.

Nigeria remains the team to beat in Group D, with Benin hot on their heels. Libya and Rwanda will be hoping to make a statement and improve their positions in the group.

Algeria leads Group E with a clean sweep, while Equatorial Guinea and Liberia are yet to find their rhythm. The match between Equatorial Guinea and Liberia could be a turning point for both teams.

In Group F, Angola has maintained a perfect record, and Niger will be aiming to spoil the party. Sudan, currently in second place, faces a tough test against Ghana.

Cote d’Ivoire is in a strong position in Group G, but Sierra Leone, Zambia, and Chad will be looking to capitalize on their matches and challenge for a top-two finish.

DR Congo leads Group H with two wins, but Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Guinea are all fighting for a place in Morocco.
Mali has taken an early lead in Group I, while Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, and Swaziland are still searching for their first points.

Cameroon is the current leader in Group J, with Kenya, Namibia, and Zimbabwe vying for a place in the top two.

Uganda and South Africa are both performing well in Group K, but Congo and South Sudan will be hoping to upset the odds.

Burkina Faso and Senegal are tied at the top of Group L, while Malawi is looking to make a breakthrough.
