2024/25 Finance Trust Women Elite League Set to Kick Off

The 2024/25 Finance Trust Women Elite League (FTBWEL) is set to ignite the Ugandan women’s football scene, with the first matches scheduled for this weekend.

This year’s league promises intense competition as 14 teams vie for the top three spots, which will grant them promotion to the top-flight Finance Trust Women Super League (FTWSL).

The teams are divided into two groups: the Elizabeth and Victoria groups, each comprising seven teams.

Last season, Asubo Gafford Ladies and UCU Lady Cardinals were relegated to the FTWEL, while Tooro Queens, Amus College, and reigning champions She Corporate earned promotion to the top tier.

Notably, She Corporate, who won the FTWEL last season, now competes in the FTWSL.

The league kicks off with a series of exciting matches on October 26th and 27th. Here are the fixtures for the first round:

Elizabeth Group:
* Kawempe Muslim SS WFC vs Royal Dreamers FC
* St. Noa Girls-Zana FC vs She Kasese SC
* Isra Academy WFC vs She Game FC

Victoria Group:
* Sacred Heart WFC vs Ateker FC
* Pabo United WFC vs Highway Ladies FC
* Asubo Gafford Ladies vs Goldstars H/S Ladies FC
