Kitara Fall Again, Could a Coaching Change Be Imminent?

Kitara are facing increasing pressure as Head Coach Brian Ssengendo struggles to turn around the team’s form amidst a five-game winless run.

Their latest setback came in a 3-1 home defeat to BUL at Royals Park in Butema, Hoima, on Friday, which has plunged the team deeper into the relegation zone and raised serious questions about Ssengendo’s strategy and future with the club.

The Royals fell behind early in the game, conceding two quick goals to BUL’s Martin Aprem and Walter Ochora within the opening 10 minutes.

A moment of hope came in the 30th minute when Arthur Kiggundu found the net, cutting the deficit to 2-1. But BUL maintained control and sealed their win with a third goal by Dickson Mataama in the 75th minute, leaving Kitara with little chance of recovery.

With just four points from six matches, Kitara now sit in 14th place on the 16-team league table with four points, and their lack of victories has left fans and stakeholders questioning Ssengendo’s leadership.

The string of poor results has not gone unnoticed by the club’s board and supporters.

Fans have voiced growing frustration over Ssengendo’s tactics and team selections, while club management is reportedly considering a change in leadership.

Sources close to the club suggest that Wasswa Bbosa is being looked at as a possible replacement, should Kitara’s form fail to improve in the coming matches.

On the other hand, BUL, who also struggled at the season’s start, have managed a significant turnaround with their second consecutive victory, lifting them to 8th position with eight points.

As Kitara grapple with these challenges, the upcoming games may prove critical, not only for the team’s standing but also for Ssengendo’s future at the club.

The club’s next fixtures will likely play a significant role in determining whether Ssengendo remains at the helm or if new leadership is brought in to steer Kitara clear of relegation.

A visit to Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo to face URA is their next game on November 1st.
