The two-day tournament, initially planned for October in Tunisia, was rescheduled to November and relocated to Accra, bringing fresh anticipation for Uganda’s squad, who recently secured a third-place finish at the Safari Sevens in Nairobi.

Headed to Ghana with a renewed sense of determination, the Lady Cranes aim to build on this recent success and continue their upward trajectory in African rugby sevens.

Uganda has been drawn into Pool C, where they will face competitive sides from Zambia, Senegal, and Ivory Coast.

This tournament presents a significant opportunity for the team to showcase their growth on the continental stage and contend with some of Africa’s top rugby nations.

The Lady Cranes squad traveling to Accra includes:

Peace Lekuru (C)
1. Lydia Namabiro
2. Yvonne Najjuma
3. Lona Amoli
4. Tina Akello
5. Maimuna Nassozi
6. Fazira Namukwaaya
7. Unity Namulala
8. Jannat Nandudu
9. Gertrude Kateesa
10. Grace Auma
11. Grace Nabaggala

With the team’s recent performance at the Safari Sevens and a strong contingent of experienced and emerging talent, the Lady Cranes are hopeful for a solid outing in Accra.
