Since taking charge, Uganda Cranes head coach Paul Joseph Put has been vocal about the fans’ essential role in the team’s success.
Under his leadership, the Cranes have taken impressive strides, facing Africa’s top teams with resilience, backed by the unwavering support of fans, especially at Namboole.
Now, with AFCON 2025 qualification on the line, Put is once again calling on fans to fill the stands and bring their powerful energy as Uganda faces South Africa on November 15.
“I want to thank the fans for always standing behind the team,” Put said during a press conference at FUFA House on Wednesday.
“For the South Africa game, we need not just the 12th man, but the 13th man too. The players and I can’t do it alone, we need you from start to finish.”
Sitting atop Group K with 10 points, the Cranes are poised to secure a coveted AFCON slot.
With Uganda last reaching AFCON in 2019, where they reached the Round of 16, Put is determined to guide the team back to the tournament in his first campaign.
