Falidah Kadondi once again delivered an impressive performance for the She Cranes, helping Uganda secure a 46-42 win over South Africa in the bronze-medal match at the Fast5 Netball World Series.
Named Player of the Match for her goalkeeping prowess, Kadondi was instrumental in Uganda’s success and showed why she’s a key player for the national team.
Kadondi expressed her pride in the team’s achievement, saying, “Playing in the Fast5 tournament has been an incredible experience.”
“I’m so proud of my teammates, and I believe this squad has the potential to reach even greater heights. I hope we’ll be back next time to showcase even more of our talent.”
This was the second time Kadondi earned the Player of the Match award during the tournament.
The Nottingham-based star first claimed the honor in Uganda’s 31-22 victory over England, where her skills on defense proved vital.
Kadondi wasn’t the only standout player for the She Cranes; teammate Margret Baagala earned Player of the Match in Uganda’s commanding 43-26 win over Jamaica.
And Mary Nuba Cholhok received the award during Uganda’s close 44-37 game against Australia.
The contributions of Kadondi, Baagala, and Nuba reflect the depth of talent in the She Cranes squad, which has solidified itself as a force to be reckoned with on the international stage.
This bronze finish is a new high for Uganda in the Fast5 World Series, improving on their fifth-place showing in 2022 and marking a significant achievement for the She Cranes.
