Hakim Kiwanuka, the SC Villa and Uganda Cranes attacking midfielder, has voiced his optimism and focus ahead of Uganda’s crucial Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against South Africa and Congo.
Kiwanuka, who has been in good form in the Uganda Premier League, expressed confidence in the team’s unity and determination to secure a victory that would take Uganda back to the AFCON.
“It’s been a fantastic experience so far. The players have been so friendly,” Kiwanuka shared about his time in the national camp.
He emphasized the team’s collective spirit, adding, “I believe that if we fight as a team, God will bless our efforts.”
As he joins his teammates in the pursuit of an AFCON berth, Kiwanuka underlined their singular focus on the upcoming game, stating, “As a team, we have only one target, and that’s getting a victory against South Africa to qualify for the AFCON.”
Kiwanuka has made a significant impact at the club level this season, appearing in six Uganda Premier League matches with a tally of three goals and one assist.
His strong performances have been pivotal for SC Villa, and he now hopes to bring that momentum to the national team.
