The Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) has elected a new executive committee for the 2024-2026 term.
In a move that saw all top positions filled unopposed, Moses Lubega has returned as president, promising a new era of innovation and growth for the association.
The elections, held at the Uganda Olympic Committee offices in Lugogo, were conducted in accordance with the association’s constitution, with Elijah Dause serving as the returning officer.
USPA also released its financial report for the year ending October 31, 2024. The association reported a total income of UGX 62,463,000, including a significant donation of UGX 60,000,000. Expenditures for the year amounted to UGX 50,785,150, leaving a surplus of UGX 11,677,850.
The newly elected executive committee comprises:
* President: Moses Lubega
* General Secretary: Shafic Senoga
* Organizing Secretary: Francisco Bwambale
* Treasurer: Amon Ngabo
President Lubega outlined his vision for the association, emphasizing the importance of expanding USPA’s reach and improving the welfare of its members.
“We aim to strengthen our partnerships with various stakeholders, including agencies and sponsors, to secure additional resources for the benefit of our members,” he said.
General Secretary Shafic Senoga pledged to foster unity and collaboration within the association, while Treasurer Amon Ngabo highlighted the need for sound financial management to ensure the sustainability of USPA’s operations.
Organizing Secretary Francisco Bwambale expressed his commitment to delivering exceptional events and initiatives that will elevate the profile of sports journalism in Uganda.
