The Hamz Football Tournament 2024 concluded on Thursday night with Block G emerging victorious after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Block F in the final match at Nakivuvo Stadium.
The tournament, which kicked off on October 12th with 16 teams divided into two groups, witnessed intense competition and dramatic eliminations throughout its duration.
After a series of exciting matches, Block G and Block F emerged as the finalists, setting the stage for a captivating championship showdown.
The day began with the third-place playoff between White House and Kafumbe United, with Kafumbe United securing the bronze medal with a resounding 7-3 victory.
The highly anticipated final saw both teams display exceptional skill and determination. However, it was Block G who broke the deadlock in the 75th minute, scoring the only goal of the match and ultimately claiming the coveted championship title and a cash prize of UGX 20 million.
Hajji Hamisi Kigundu, CEO of the Hamz Tournament, expressed his delight, stating, “I am overjoyed because I built this stadium for the people, not for myself.
