The Uganda U17 Women’s National Team, also known as the Teen Cranes, are set to embark on a journey towards the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, facing Namibia in the first round of qualifiers.
The first leg of the two-legged encounter will take place in Namibia between January 10th and 12th, 2025.
The return leg will be hosted in Uganda between January 17th and 19th. The aggregate winner of this tie will then face Kenya in the second round of qualifiers.
The FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to be held in Morocco from October 17th to November 8th, 2025, will feature 24 teams for the first time in its history.
The tournament has seen significant growth in recent years, with the United States emerging as the most successful nation with three titles.
The Teen Cranes beat Cameroon in the first round of the 2024 U17 FIFA World Cup qualifiers but were eliminated by Zambia in the next round. They will be hoping to do better this time and qualify for the World Cup for the first time in the nation’s history.
