Uganda Cranes defender Bevis Mugabi played the full 90 minutes as Anorthosis Famagusta secured a convincing 3-0 win over Omonia Aradippou in a dominant performance at the Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium.
The match marked the sixth consecutive home victory for Anorthosis in the league.
Mugabi’s solid presence in defense was instrumental in keeping a clean sheet as Anorthosis controlled the game from start to finish.
The team opened the scoring in the 14th minute through Rafa Lopes, who dedicated the goal to injured teammate Andreas Chrysostomou.
Gyurcsó added a second goal in the 29th minute, while Grzegorz Krychowiak sealed the result with a composed finish in the 52nd minute.
Anorthosis’ backline, anchored by Mugabi, nullified any threat from Omonia Aradippou, ensuring their goalkeeper had little to do.
Head coach Temur Ketsbaia praised his team’s resilience and organization despite facing several absences and a congested fixture list.
The win lifts Anorthosis to sixth place in the standings with 21 points, keeping their push for a top-six finish alive. Up next, they face a challenging away fixture against Apollon in Limassol on December 21.
