The Boni Consilii Girls Vocational School football team arrived safely in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on Sunday, ready to compete in the CAF U-17 Girls Integrated Football Tournament.
The team, representing Uganda, will be based at the Sapphire Court Hotel throughout the tournament, which runs from January 7th to 18th.
Drawn in Group B alongside TDS Girls (Tanzania), Aigle Noir (Burundi), and Hilaad (Somalia), Boni Consilii enters the tournament with momentum.
In their final preparation, they secured a 2-1 victory over the Kawempe Select Team, with goals from Ayirowoth Peace and Ariho Rinah while Agnes Nabukenya scored for Kawempe Select.
The CAF U-17 Girls Integrated Football Tournament aims to provide a platform for talented young female footballers to showcase their skills and abilities on the international stage.
Boni Consilii earned the right to represent Uganda after emerging victorious in the USSSA Ball Games II, Girls football U-16.
Their tournament journey begins on January 8th with a crucial match against TDS Girls. They will then face Hilaad FC of Somalia on January 11th and conclude their group stage against Aigle Noir of Burundi on January 14th.
This tournament aligns with CAF’s strategic commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering the next generation of female footballers.
