The Stanbic Black Pirates have received a significant boost ahead of the 2025 Nile Special Rugby Championship, securing a UGX 450 million sponsorship deal with Roke Telkom.
The partnership was officially announced on Wednesday afternoon at Roke Telkom’s headquarters in Bugolobi.
This substantial investment from Roke Telkom will enable the Pirates to enhance their performance on the field, providing crucial support for player development, training, and equipment.
“This partnership goes beyond rugby. It’s about inspiring communities, supporting talent, and driving the sport to greater heights in the country,” said Anthony Tenywa, Commercial Manager of Roke Telkom, at the announcement.
Daniel Canowira, Chairperson of the Pirates Rugby Club, expressed immense gratitude for Roke Telkom’s support.
“This generous sponsorship empowers us to focus on delivering top-notch performances while inspiring our fans and aspiring players across the country,” Canowira stated.
The partnership comes at a crucial time, with the Pirates set to kick off their 2025 campaign this Saturday, January 11th, against the Walukuba Barbarians at Kings Park Arena, Bweyogere.
The match will commence at 4:00 PM and will be broadcast live on NBS Sport.
