Arsenal’s crucial Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest next month may be moved to a later date to ease fixture congestion for the hosts.
Currently scheduled for February 25th, the match at the City Ground could be rescheduled for February 26th, according to reports in the Daily Mail.
This shift would give Nottingham Forest an extra day of recovery after their away match against Newcastle United on February 24th.
The proposed change would benefit Arsenal, who will have an extra day of rest compared to their opponents, having played West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium on the preceding Saturday.
This fixture holds significant importance in the context of the Premier League title race.
Both teams are currently in the top four, with Nottingham Forest enjoying an impressive season under Nuno Espirito Santo.
Arsenal, while leading the league for much of the season, will be wary of Forest’s home form. They have only lost twice at the City Ground this season and recently held Liverpool to a draw.
Arsenal have a mixed recent record at the City Ground, losing three of their last four visits. However, they secured a victory against Forest at the Emirates earlier this season.
