Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) have finalized their mid-season transfer activity, bringing in new talent while parting ways with several players.
The window, which opened on January 1, 2025, saw key additions, contract terminations, and disciplinary actions.
Midfielder Umar Lutalo signed with KCCA FC from Kitara. Having featured in the first round of the 2024/25 season, Lutalo joins on a deal until the end of the campaign, with an option for extension.
He will compete for a place in the attacking midfield alongside Bright Anukani, Sharifu Ssengendo, Saidi Mayanja, Ashraf Mugume, and Steven Munguchi.
The club rewarded young prospects Yian Gatbel and Brain Jjara with minor contracts, securing their services until they turn 18.
Defensive midfielder Jjara has already made an impact, earning man-of-the-match honors in Uganda Premier League matches against Maroons FC and Mbarara City FC.
He also played in the Stanbic Uganda Cup against 403 Brigade FC. Meanwhile, Gatbel, the FUFA Juniors League 2024 top scorer with 13 goals, made his senior debut in the Uganda Cup fixture against 403 Brigade FC.
Their contracts include a clause giving KCCA FC first option on senior deals when they turn 18.
Three players—Ssenoga Kagawa Muhammed, Juma Ibrahim, and South Sudan international Emmanuel Loki—have mutually agreed to terminate their contracts with KCCA.
The club expressed gratitude for their contributions and wished them well.
Additionally, teenage forward Abubaker Mayanja, who signed a minor contract at the start of the 2023/24 season, has left after turning 18 in December 2024. He opted not to extend his stay at the club.
Meanwhile, the club has initiated disciplinary proceedings against Joseph Ogwang and Elvis Eddy Mwanje after the duo was reported absent without leave.
KCCA are currently third in the Uganda Premier League and will face NEC in the Philip Omondi derby when the second round starts on Thursday 13th February.
