Vipers SC have announced the signing of highly-rated forward Isaac Ogwang from Police FC.
The deadline day transfer sees the 27-year-old striker commit to a two-year contract with the Venoms, keeping him at St. Mary’s Stadium until January 2027, with an option for extension.
Ogwang’s arrival is a major boost for Vipers, who are looking to bolster their attacking prowess and mount a strong challenge for the Uganda Premier League title.
He becomes the club’s second signing of the January transfer window, following the return of midfielder Marvin Joseph Youngman.
The prolific striker has been in exceptional form this season, scoring six goals in 13 appearances for Police FC and playing a key role in their climb to 10th position on the league table.
His performances also earned him a call-up to the national team for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers, where he further showcased his talent with a goal against Burundi.
Ogwang’s impressive track record extends beyond this season.
Last year, his 12 goals were instrumental in Police FC’s promotion back to the top flight, securing them the Fufa Big League title.
His experience also includes stints with prominent Ugandan clubs such as SC Villa, Kampala Junior Team (KJT), Spartans 09, and Big League side Arua Hill SC.
Vipers SC are confident that Ogwang’s goal-scoring ability will be a game-changer in their pursuit of silverware.
He will join a competitive forward line that already features established players like Mohamed Salem, Yunus Sentamu, Gusto Mulongo, Kenneth Kimera, and Annest Ankunda.
The club believes Ogwang’s sharp instincts and clinical finishing will be crucial in converting chances and reigniting their title aspirations.
