We Are Proud to Contribute to CAF’s Namboole Decision – KCCA CEO Anisha

Anisha Muhoozi appearing on NBS Pressbox

KCCA Football Club CEO Anisha Muhoozi has strongly criticized the FUFA Appeals Committee’s decision to dismiss the club’s appeal against the forfeiture ruling in their match against Mbarara City.

In an audio shared by the club, Muhoozi expressed deep frustration over the committee’s reasoning, particularly its stance on KCCA’s failure to consult the FUFA Competitions Board regarding the eligibility of Gavin Kizito Mugweri.

“It is absurd that the FUFA Appeals Committee has come up with such a ruling,” Muhoozi said. “Their defense is that KCCA didn’t consult the FUFA Competitions Board. I do not know whether the committee is actually aware of how the game is being run.”

Muhoozi questioned why the Appeals Committee placed responsibility on KCCA to seek confirmation from FUFA when, according to the club, they had already received validation from the Uganda Premier League (UPL).

“So ultimately, what the decision is saying is that the Uganda Premier League does not work on behalf of the Federation, or the Federation is disowning the Uganda Premier League because we have valid confirmation from the Uganda Premier League.”

The ruling has left KCCA officials and supporters frustrated, as the club insists it followed proper procedures in verifying player eligibility.

“I am really at a loss for words. I do not even know what to think,” Muhoozi added.

“How do we go from here if the FUFA Appeals Committee is saying the records of the club shall hold water over the records that have been confirmed by the FUFA Competitions Department? It’s very absurd.”

The FUFA Appeals Committee in their ruling maintained that clubs bear the sole responsibility for fielding only eligible players and that competition rules must be upheld.

With the appeal now dismissed, KCCA lose the game against Mbarara City by forfeiture which makes their title charge a little more challenging.
