The FUFA Disciplinary Panel has imposed a suspended deduction of three points and three goals on Onduparaka FC and Soroti Thunders FC following their failure to honor their Uganda Cup Round of 64 fixtures.
The decision, citing Article 15 (37) of the FUFA Competitions Rules and Regulations, comes after Onduparaka FC failed to show up for their scheduled match against Bushenyi Veterans, while Soroti Thunders mistakenly traveled to the wrong venue for their tie against Blacks Power.
According to FUFA, the sanctions will remain suspended unless either team misses another Uganda Cup match. Should they fail to turn up again, the deduction will be immediately applied to their respective league standings.
Additionally, both clubs have been issued a strong caution, with FUFA warning that any further violation of competition rules could result in stricter penalties.
Onduparaka had initially requested a postponement of their match to allow participation in a memorial event for their former player, Rashid Agau, but FUFA denied the request.
Meanwhile, Soroti Thunders’ miscommunication regarding the match venue saw them arrive at Kidetok Primary School playground instead of Soroti Stadium, where the game was officially scheduled.
This is the second consecutive season Onduparaka has forfeited a Uganda Cup match, having missed their Round of 64 fixture last season due to transportation issues.
