BUL Football Chairman Ronald Barente has expressed disappointment over the absence of several Uganda Premier League (UPL) club chairmen and presidents at the recently concluded Football Management and Administration Course II (FAMACO II).
Speaking at the closing ceremony in Kisasi, Barente emphasized the importance of such training sessions in eliminating mediocrity in football leadership.
“Someone who gives you knowledge provides you with lifelong capital. It is disappointing that many UPL Club Chairmen and Presidents shunned this free course. Everyone needs to take on such training to eliminate mediocrity in football leadership,” Barente said.
FUFA President Moses Magogo also dismissed claims that the training was politically motivated, emphasizing that its primary goal was to equip football leaders with the necessary skills.
“Some may think this is a political move, but that is not the case. Football requires experience, and our goal was not to exclude those with experience but to enhance knowledge in the administration of the game,” Magogo stated.
The FAMACO II course covered critical topics such as football governance, TV rights, marketing, and safeguarding, with 38 participants successfully completing the program.
