Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) and MTN Uganda have introduced a discounted mobile ticketing system for home matches at MTN Omondi Stadium.

The initiative, launched on Tuesday, February 11, aims to enhance convenience for fans while promoting digital payments through MTN MoMo.

The new ticketing system will debut in KCCA’s first home match of the second round against Vipers on Sunday, February 16.

Fans purchasing tickets via MTN MoMo will enjoy a discounted price of UGX 15,000 instead of the standard UGX 20,000.

The offer is valid until Saturday, February 15, with similar discounts set to apply to other home games throughout the season.

Speaking at the launch, KCCA FC CEO Anisha Shahir Muhoozi emphasized the club’s commitment to improving fan engagement.

“This venture starts with our game against Vipers. The ordinary ticket will cost UGX 20,000, but through MTN MoMo ticketing, fans can get it for UGX 15,000. The discounts will vary for different games throughout the second round,” Muhoozi stated.

MTN Uganda has been working with KCCA on digital ticketing since 2019, refining the system to enhance efficiency.

According to John Paul Okwi, MTN Uganda’s Manager of Sponsorships and Events, the initiative aims to encourage more fans to attend games.

“We started testing this ticketing system with KCCA in 2019 and have continuously improved it. While there were challenges at the beginning, we have addressed most of them. We want to see more fans in the stadium, and this is just the beginning of a year full of exciting discounts,” Okwi said.

Beyond ticketing, MTN Market by MoMo is also finalizing plans with KCCA to offer club merchandise via the MoMo app.

The service will allow fans in Kampala and surrounding areas to order official club gear and have it delivered to their doorstep.

KCCA Business Development Officer Joshua Nagenda highlighted the strategic partnership’s impact on growing the club’s fan base and making match attendance seamless.

“We were the first club to adopt the MTN ticketing platform, even before the national team. This collaboration has helped us address various challenges, and with MTN’s vast reach, we can raise awareness about our matches and improve stadium access for fans,” Nagenda explained.

How to Buy Tickets Using MTN MoMo:

1. Dial *16520#

2. Enter your PIN to unlock MoMo ticketing

3. Select option 1: MoMo ticketing

4. Select option 4: KCCA FC vs Vipers SC

5. Choose option 1 to buy a ticket

6. Select how you want to receive the ticket: SMS or SMS & Email

Fans have until Saturday, February 15, to take advantage of the discounted ticket price for the Vipers match.
