Brazil Buzzes with World Cup Fever: Kerolin Leads Charge for Historic 2027 Triumph

As International Women’s Day approaches, Brazil’s anticipation for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ is reaching a fever pitch, with star forward Kerolin leading the charge for a historic victory on home soil.

In an exclusive interview with FIFA, the Manchester City and Canarinha sensation expressed her unwavering belief that the tournament will not only elevate Brazilian women’s football but also inspire a generation of young girls.

“I think a lot about how much it will contribute to our sport in Brazil and how many more girls we can turn into top players,” Kerolin said, her excitement palpable. “We can establish ourselves as role models for the stars of tomorrow. Hosting the World Cup will bring the sport ever closer to girls across Brazil.”

The 25-year-old, a rising star in the global game, is keenly aware of the significance of hosting the tenth edition of the Women’s World Cup, marking its debut on South American soil.

With Brazil automatically qualifying as hosts, expectations are sky-high for a long-awaited World Cup title.

“It’s hard to describe the feeling when I think about playing in a World Cup in my own country. And with everything that’s happening off the pitch, there couldn’t be a better time for the tournament to be staged in Brazil,” Kerolin added.

Kerolin emphasized the growing respect for the Brazilian team, highlighting their recent silver medal at the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024 as proof of their ability to compete with the world’s best. She also pointed to the CONMEBOL Copa America Femenina 2025 as a crucial stepping stone towards the 2027 World Cup.

“Our aim is always to go for glory in every tournament we play in,” she stated. “But we also need to prepare as best we can for the World Cup in Brazil – I think it’s going to be a great World Cup.”

The forward’s move to Manchester City has provided her with a firsthand look at the importance of youth development, a concept she hopes to replicate in Brazil.

“I see girls as young as seven or eight already training at City – it’s something I’m looking at,” she revealed. “Together with my business partners and with certain projects already under way, we’re looking very closely at that being one of the focal points of our future plans.”

For Kerolin, the 2027 World Cup is more than just a tournament; it’s a chance to leave a lasting legacy.

“I think everyone’s goal when it comes to the World Cup is to go all the way,” she declared. “The aim is to be crowned champions, because we want to make history for ourselves, our families, the national team and, without question, those aspiring to become footballers.”

The prospect of playing in front of her family and friends adds an extra layer of motivation for Kerolin.

“When I stop and think about the World Cup taking place in Brazil, I think about my family watching the games, the friends I’ve played football with since I was very young. For them to be there cheering you on is an added source of motivation. If you start to feel tired, you hardly notice it, because you’re just drinking in the moment.”

As Brazil gears up for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™, Kerolin’s vision of inspiring a nation and cementing Brazilian women’s football as a global powerhouse resonates deeply.
