Uganda secured direct entry into the Division 1 Qualifier based on their performance in the previous edition held in Tanzania.

They will be joined by fellow automatic qualifiers Kenya and Namibia, while hosts Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Tanzania earned their spots through the Division 2 Qualifier in August 2024.

The Ugandan team will begin their campaign against Tanzania on March 29 before facing regional rivals Kenya the following day.

Key fixtures include a crucial encounter against Namibia on April 2 and a final group-stage clash against Nigeria on April 6.

The winner of the tournament will book a ticket to the 2026 ICC U19 Cricket World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Zimbabwe and Namibia.

Uganda will be aiming to return to the global stage after previously making an appearance in the 2022 edition of the tournament.

Uganda U19 Fixtures at the Africa Division 1 Qualifier:

  • March 29, 2025: Uganda U19 vs Tanzania U19
  • March 30, 2025: Uganda U19 vs Kenya U19
  • April 1, 2025: Uganda U19 vs Sierra Leone U19
  • April 2, 2025: Uganda U19 vs Namibia U19
  • April 6, 2025: Uganda U19 vs Nigeria U19

The tournament will be a major test for Uganda’s young cricketers as they seek to make history and secure a place at the prestigious ICC U19 Cricket World Cup.
