Uganda Rugby Union’s men’s 7s national team was named the Team Of The Year. The Rugby Cranes 7s won the inaugural African Games rugby 7s gold medal in Accra, the Africa 7s title in Mapou, and finished sixth at the World Rugby 7s Challenger Series.

Timothy Kisiga, a player on that team and the Rugby Cranes test team plus Stanbic Black Pirates RFC, won the Male Rugby Player of The Year award.

The women’s 7s national team captain Peace Lekuru took the Female Rugby Player of The Year award. Lekuru was Uganda’s top try scorer on the 2024 international calendar and also inspired her Avengers RFC club to their first-ever national 7s series title.
