Nottingham Forest secured their first win of the Netball Super League season with a 70-54 victory over Cardiff Dragons in Round 2.
She Cranes defender Faridah Kadondi was named as one of the impact players on the bench in the match as her team dominated proceedings at the Motorpoint Arena.
Forest took control early, utilizing the Soft & Gentle Super Shot to establish a 39-27 lead at halftime.
Despite a solid defensive effort from the Dragons’ Leah Middleton and Jacqui Newton, they were unable to contain Forest’s attacking duo, with Player of the Match Rolene Streutker leading the scoring.
The defensive pairing of Jayda Pechova and Tash Pavelin played a crucial role in limiting the Dragons’ scoring opportunities, helping Forest extend their lead and close out the match with a comfortable 16-goal margin.
Captain Niamh Cooper praised the home crowd for their support, saying, “It’s the best feeling ever. To come out here and have this arena absolutely packed full of Nottingham Forest fans, it was something you only could have dreamed of six months ago. It is a really proud moment for the club.”
With their first win on the board, Nottingham Forest will now turn their attention to their Round 3 clash against Manchester Thunder.
