St. Mary’s Magdalene Girls Secondary School has etched its name into history, clinching the USSSA Football Tournament title for Lira City in spectacular fashion.
The team achieved an unparalleled feat, not conceding a single goal across seven matches while amassing an extraordinary 68 goals—a record that will be celebrated for years to come.
Under the expert guidance of Coach Geoffrey Okwii, renowned for his previous success with Lango Queens, the young athletes displayed technical excellence, teamwork, and an indomitable spirit.
Their journey to glory culminated in a resounding 8-0 victory over Topstar SS in the finals on Sunday March 23, following an equally commanding 6-0 triumph against St. Katherine Girls Secondary School in the semifinals.
The team’s offensive prowess and defensive resilience have underscored the rapid progress of women’s football in the region, inspiring fans and aspiring players alike.
This victory not only crowns St. Mary’s Magdalene as city champions but also paves their way to the zonal tournament.
