Uganda’s Fazila Ikwaput delivered yet another sensational performance, netting a hat-trick as Gokulam Kerala blanked Sribhumi FC 3-0 in the Indian Women’s League (IWL) at the EMS Corporation Stadium in Kozhikode on Wednesday.
The Crested Cranes vice-captain wasted no time making an impact, scoring twice in the opening 12 minutes.
She struck first in the 8th minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse, before doubling the lead four minutes later with a clinical finish.
Ikwaput completed her hat-trick in the 62nd minute, reaffirming her status as the league’s most lethal forward.
Her goal tally now stands at 22 for the season, keeping her firmly at the top of the IWL scoring charts.
In the 82nd minute, her fellow Ugandan, Sharon Namatovu, was introduced into midfield to provide fresh legs and help Gokulam see out the game comfortably.
With this victory, Gokulam Kerala remains in second place on the table with 23 points, four behind league leaders East Bengal.
As the season heads into its final stretch, Ikwaput’s remarkable form continues to drive Gokulam’s title ambitions.
The Ugandan star, who also serves as vice-captain of the Crested Cranes, has been a standout performer in the IWL, showcasing her goal-scoring prowess on one of the biggest stages in Indian women’s football.
