Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Bukayo Saka is fit to play after missing three months due to a hamstring injury.
The England winger underwent surgery following Arsenal’s victory over Crystal Palace on December 21 but is now ready to return, potentially featuring in Tuesday’s Premier League match against Fulham at Emirates Stadium.
“Saka is ready to go,” Arteta stated. “We’ve respected the timeline and done everything carefully. Bukayo is a massive weapon for us, and his impact is key to our success.”
Saka has been vital to Arsenal’s campaign this season, contributing nine goals and ten assists in 24 appearances across all competitions.
His return could provide a much-needed boost to a Gunners side currently trailing league leaders Liverpool by 12 points with nine games left.
Meanwhile, Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori faces time on the sidelines after sustaining a knee injury during Italy’s international match against Germany. Arteta revealed, “It could have been much worse. Hopefully, it’s just a matter of weeks, but we’ll monitor its progress.”
The club’s new sporting director, Andrea Berta, was also present at the news conference. Arteta praised Berta’s decision to join Arsenal despite interest from other clubs, calling it a positive step for the team’s future.
