Kampala Queens Extend Lead as She Corporates and Kawempe Struggle

Kampala Queens continued their dominance in the Finance Trust Bank Women Super League with a commanding 4-0 victory over Rines SS WFC on Saturday, March 29.

The win not only extended their unbeaten run to an impressive 16 games but also pushed their lead at the top of the table to eight points.

The Queens, fueled by stellar performances from Shamira Nalugya and Zaina Nandede, who both scored braces, now boast 40 points from 16 matches.

Meanwhile, reigning champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies dropped crucial points in their bid to defend their title.

A 1-1 draw against Amus College WFC on Sunday left them trailing the Queens with 32 points, significantly widening the gap in the race for the championship.

She Corporates’ struggles persisted as they suffered a third consecutive defeat, losing 1-0 to Makerere University.

This loss leaves them tied on 15 points with Tooro Queens, who managed a crucial 1-0 win over She Maroons, pulling themselves out of the relegation zone.

In other action-packed fixtures, Lady Doves emerged victorious with a 2-1 win against Olila HS WFC in Soroti, maintaining their push for a top-four finish. Uganda Martyrs Ladies showcased resilience to rally past Wakiso Hill WFC 2-1, thanks to a brace from Latifah Nakasi. Wakiso’s relegation woes deepen as the battle for survival intensifies.

As the league edges closer to its climax, Kampala Queens appear poised to clinch the title, while She Corporates and Kawempe Muslim Ladies face the challenge of regrouping to salvage their campaigns.
