Former Manchester United striker Andy Cole arrived in Kenya on Friday night, marking the start of his visit to East Africa.
The legendary forward, who played a key role in United’s treble-winning season in 1999, touched down in Nairobi, where he is expected to engage with fans and take part in several football-related events.
Cole’s arrival in Kenya has stirred excitement across the region, especially in neighbouring Uganda, where Manchester United boasts a large and passionate fanbase.
The visit follows Manchester United’s official recognition of the Uganda Manchester United Supporters Club —a milestone that many fans believe could pave the way for more direct engagement with the club and its legends.
During his playing career, Andy Cole scored 121 goals for Manchester United, forming a memorable partnership with Dwight Yorke and winning numerous titles under Sir Alex Ferguson.
His presence in the region is not only nostalgic for long-time fans but also significant in strengthening ties between the club and its supporters across East Africa.
While no official plans have been confirmed for a stop in Uganda, the growing relationship between the club and its East African fanbase is being seen as a step toward future visits.
