“We Want Maximum Points” – Bbosa Speaks Ahead of NEC Test

Kitara head coach Wasswa Bbosa has expressed confidence in his team’s preparations ahead of their Uganda Premier League clash against NEC FC on Thursday night at the MTN Omondi Stadium.

Speaking ahead of the highly anticipated match day 23 encounter, Bbosa said his side is determined to close the gap on the league’s top three with a strong performance against second-placed NEC.

“We have done thorough preparations and our aim is to pick maximum points on Thursday,” Bbosa stated. “We know they are enjoying a good run this season especially at home but we want to close the gap on the top three by giving our best in the remaining games.”

Kitara head into the fixture on the back of a dominant 4-0 win over KCCA FC at the Royals Park in Butema, a result that avenged their 2-0 first-round loss in Lugogo.

The team has now won four of their last six league matches and currently sits fifth on the table with 35 points.

NEC, who beat Kitara 2-1 in the reverse fixture last September, occupy second place with 48 points and remain unbeaten at home in recent outings.

However, Bbosa believes his squad, which has shown improvement under his leadership, is ready to challenge that record.

The Royals will also be boosted by the return of forward George Senkaaba from suspension. He is expected to link up with Kabon Living, Jude Ssemugabi, Kaddu Patrick, Fred Amaku, Rogers Mugisha, and Titus Ssematimba in attack.

Kitara has had the better record in recent head-to-head meetings, winning four of the last six encounters against NEC across all competitions.
