Following the sacking of Abdallah Mubiru on Thursday, Jackson Magera was once again handed the reins at KCCA as interim head coach — his second stint in that role after stepping in for Sergio Traguil back in 2023.
His first assignment was once again a tough one — a home clash against top four chasing BUL at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
But just like his first spell, Magera’s return to the dugout didn’t go to plan.
The Kasasiro Boys were edged 2–1 by the Oil Manufacturers, with Jeremy Kirya and Karim Ndugwa finding the back of the net for BUL.

Ashraf Mugume pulled one back for KCCA, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation.
Déjà vu for Magera — his first game as interim coach in October 2023 also ended in defeat, a 2-0 home loss to NEC courtesy of a Cromwell Rwothomio first-half brace.
There’s no breathing space for KCCA either.
They now travel to Nakivubo Stadium on Wednesday, April 16, to face a URA side sitting fourth on the table with 39 points.

KCCA, after the loss to BUL, remain sixth with 34 points from 23 games.
Can Magera steady the ship this time around, or is it another uphill task for the Kasasiro Boys?
