Vipers coach Fred Muhumuza has backed Isaac Ogwang to shine at Kitende after the striker scored his first goal for the Venoms in the 3-1 league win over NEC on Thursday night.
The former Police forward scored the third in the added minutes of the opening half, adding to Allan Okello and Hillary Mukundane’s earlier goals.
“He is a good player. We have been working on his mental stability. You know being at a new side and you are not scoring, it disturbed him. But we only wanted the positive contribution of Ogwang in terms of assisting and holding up play even if he does not score,” he noted.
“We congratulate him for the mark but we demand more from him in terms of the team ethic. As a national team player, it gives him confidence,” added Muhumuza.

Ogwang joined Vipers on the deadline day in February from Police FC where he had scored six times from 13 games.
The 27-year-old signed a two-year deal, but his start at the new side has, however, been hampered by an injury he got on his debut in Vipers’ 2-0 home win against URA in January.
