Uganda’s representatives at the CAF African Schools Football Championship 2025 have discovered their group stage opponents following the official draw held on Monday, April 21 in Accra.
St. Mary’s School Kitende, representing Uganda in the Boys U-15 category, has been placed in Group A alongside tournament hosts Ghana, South Africa, and Algeria.
In the Girls U-15 category, St. Noa Girls Secondary School will face defending champions South Africa, DR Congo, and The Gambia in Group B.
Both teams will compete at the University of Ghana Stadium between April 23 and 26, as eight nations per category vie for continental honours in the third edition of the championship.
The draw was conducted by CAF Legends Asamoah Gyan of Ghana and Clementine Toure of Côte d’Ivoire, who described the match-ups as “exciting” and reflective of the growing competitiveness of school football across Africa.
Group A in the Girls’ category features Ghana, Morocco, Benin, and Malawi, while Group B, which includes Uganda, is considered particularly challenging with South Africa leading the pack as defending champions.
In the Boys’ draw, Group B is headlined by reigning champions Tanzania, who are grouped with Senegal, debutants Côte d’Ivoire, and DR Congo.
With the theme “Encourage, Educate and Engage,” this year’s CAF Africa Schools Football Championship is expected to not only showcase emerging talent but also support development through various capacity-building initiatives.
All matches will be streamed live on CAF’s official YouTube channel, CAF TV.
