Ssingo has confirmed a revamped technical and coaching team ahead of the 2025 Masaza Cup Football Tournament, with experienced tactician Edward Golola appointed to lead the technical unit.
Golola, a former head coach at Mawokota and St Mary’s Kitende SS, brings a wealth of experience to a Ssingo side targeting a third title after triumphs in 2015 and 2018—both of which came against Buddu in the final.
In the latest shakeup, former Kampala Queens head coach Hamza Lutalo has taken over as head coach, replacing Simone Peter Mugerwa.
Lutalo will be assisted by Basito Ssemuyaba, who recently worked with NEC FC and currently serves as an assistant coach at Mbarara City under Livingston Mbabazi.
Also joining the coaching staff is Ismail Ndawula, who previously guided Buvuma to the quarterfinals in 2023 before a brief stint with Buddu. The goalkeeping department will be handled by Ssenyange Kato.
On the other hand, Buwekula have opted for continuity, retaining Felix Ssekabuza as their head coach for the upcoming season. Buvuma has named Juma Miburo as their new head coach, replacing Michael Bukenya.
Buddu, the reigning champions, will look to defend their crown after edging Kyaggwe 1-0 in last year’s final at Namboole Stadium. Mike Walaga scored the winning goal, assisted by Pius Ssebulime, in a tightly contested encounter.
