Frank Ssebufu once again showed his value in the biggest moments as SC Villa held Vipers SC to a 1-1 draw in a tense Uganda Premier League encounter at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba.
Vipers had taken control of the match in the second half when Hillary Mukundane powered in a header to give the league leaders the advantage. But the lead lasted only four minutes before Ssebufu stepped up with a composed finish to level matters and silence the visitors.
The strike further strengthened Ssebufu’s growing reputation as a forward who thrives under pressure. He has now scored twice against Vipers this season, underlining his ability to consistently deliver in high stakes fixtures.
His overall numbers continue to reflect a strong campaign, with 8 goals and 3 assists in 20 league appearances. More importantly for SC Villa, his contributions have come at crucial moments in the season’s defining matches.

In Villa’s recent 1-0 win over KCCA FC, Ssebufu provided the assist for Hassan Mubiru’s winner.
Across the last two league games, he has directly contributed to two goals, helping Villa secure four points from a possible six against top opposition.
His influence goes beyond scoring and assists. Ssebufu’s movement, aerial strength, link-up play and pressing intensity have made him a constant threat for defenders, particularly in tightly contested matches.

Speaking to this reporter after the game, he pointed to his comfort in pressure situations.
“I feel free when it comes to big matches because I’m used to the pressure,” Ssebufu said.
With the season approaching its climax, his form is proving vital for SC Villa’s push in the standings.
Beyond domestic football, he has also expressed ambition to return to professional football at a higher level and eventually feature for Uganda at AFCON 2027, which will be co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
