Peace Kabasweka advanced to the final of the women’s division at the inaugural President’s Cup after defeating Gloria Mbagutta in a dominant display that saw her seal the win by the 11th hole at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa.
Kabasweka, who carded the best score on day one to lead the women’s pack, credited favourable weather conditions for helping her execute her game plan effectively.
“The weather has been good and it has helped me with my strategy,” she said following her semi-final victory.
She now faces long-hitting Meron Kyomugisha in the final, a matchup she acknowledges will demand precision and composure.
“I meet a very experienced person in the final so I will have to make sure I swing well. That’s what I need to do to win,” Kabasweka added.
The winner of the women’s final will walk away with a UGX 2 million cash prize, and Kabasweka will be looking to add another title to her growing list of achievements.
