Ilkay Gundogan has lauded his departing Manchester City teammate Kevin De Bruyne as “irreplaceable” and the club’s greatest ever player.
Speaking to ESPN ahead of City’s FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest, Gundogan praised De Bruyne’s “unbelievable” contribution over ten seasons, during which the Belgian won at least 14 major trophies.
“For me personally, in the history of Man City, there is no better player than Kevin De Bruyne,” Gundogan stated, emphasizing the pleasure of sharing the pitch and a personal connection with him.
Despite a less stellar season, City aims to give De Bruyne a victorious FA Cup send-off, first needing to overcome Nottingham Forest.
