BUL put on a commanding display to thrash Lugazi FC 4-0 in a Uganda Premier League encounter played on Tuesday evening at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.
The emphatic win comes despite the absence of key personnel, including defenders Walter Ochora and Nicholas Mwere, and head coach Abbey Kikomeko, all suspended by FUFA following disciplinary breaches during the club’s recent Uganda Cup quarterfinal loss toKitara.
The suspensions, however, did little to slow down the Jinja-based side as they produced a clinical performance, notching a second successive win since the sanctions.
BUL had previously edged Wakiso Giants 2-1 over the weekend in a hard-fought win in Wakiso on Saturday.
In front of their home crowd against Lugazi, BUL wasted no time asserting dominance.
Abdul Karim Ndugwa opened the scoring in the 26th minute, tapping in from close range to give his side a deserved lead heading into halftime.
Just four minutes after the restart, Ndugwa doubled the advantage, grabbing his brace and putting BUL firmly in control.
The floodgates remained open as winger Ibrahim Orit made it 3-0 in the 62nd minute, before Hillary Onek rounded off the scoring in the 69th with a fine finish to seal the 4-0 rout.
Lugazi, fresh off a 3-1 late comeback win against Soltilo Bright Stars in their previous match, failed to replicate that fight, with BUL’s midfield dominance and clinical finishing leaving them no room for recovery.
The result solidifies BUL’s position in third place on the league table with 49 points, 10 behind leaders Vipers SC and five behind second-placed NEC, both of whom have games in hand.
Lugazi, who were targeting a potential rise to ninth place with a win, remain in the bottom half of the table.
It was BUL’s second league win over Lugazi this season, having edged them 2-1 in the reverse fixture thanks to Isaac Wagoina’s late winner.
