Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim insists captain Bruno Fernandes is staying put despite interest from Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal.
Amorim hailed Fernandes as a “top player” and “leader,” crucial to the team’s future.
While acknowledging the need to sell players for a summer rebuild, especially if Champions League qualification via the Europa League fails, Amorim stressed, “We want to keep the best players – and Bruno is clearly one of the top players in the world. We want Bruno here.”
Fernandes has scored 19 and assisted 18 this season.
United hold a 3-0 Europa League semi-final lead but Amorim warned against complacency, citing past collapses.
He also reflected on his “worst team” comment after a January defeat, acknowledging the season’s disappointment despite potential European success.
