Nabisunsa Girls’ School opened their Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) volleyball campaign in emphatic fashion, defeating Ntungamo Girls’ High School 2-0 in a high-intensity match held at Bukedea Comprehensive School.
The encounter saw Nabisunsa assert early dominance, taking control from the opening serve and maintaining their momentum throughout both sets.
Speaking to the USSSA Media Team after the match, Nabisunsa captain Atukwasa Belysha credited their performance to discipline and unity. “We showed the best display and our efforts paid it,” she remarked.
Ntungamo’s captain Atuhaire Mercy admitted the match proved difficult but remained hopeful for future improvement.
“We managed to do whatever our coach told us but our opponents were too good, it wasn’t our lucky day,” she told the USSSA Media Team, pledging to bounce back stronger in the coming games.
Elsewhere in the girls’ division, hosts Bukedea Comprehensive School also made a winning start, sweeping Masheruka Girls Secondary School 2-0.
In the boys’ category, Wampeewo Ntakke Secondary School edged St Paul’s Vocational School Buyanja in a tightly contested three-set duel, eventually securing a 2-1 victory.
