The 2025 Uganda National Lacrosse League (UNLL) officially gets underway on Saturday, May 10, with four highly anticipated opening-day fixtures scheduled at Kyadondo Rugby Club.
The league, which will run across multiple weeks, brings together eight men’s teams competing in the Olympic Sixes format — a fast-paced version of the sport tailored for international standards and Olympic qualification.
Saturday’s fixtures will mark the beginning of the season, setting the tone for what promises to be a competitive and tightly contested league.
The match schedule is as follows:
- 8:00 a.m. – Metropolitan International University vs Kasese Vikings
- 8:30 a.m. – FCA Warriors vs Blink Kobs
- 9:00 a.m. – Bombo Army Secondary School vs Buroni Panthers
- 9:30 a.m. – Jinja Nile Zulus vs MUBS Lacrosse
Each team will play throughout the season in a league format, earning points from match results — three points for a win and none for a loss.
The team with the most points at the end of the season will be crowned league champion. In the event of a tie, goal difference, goals scored, and head-to-head records will serve as tiebreakers.
This year’s competition will continue to use the Olympic Sixes format, which emphasizes speed, precision, and high scoring.
The structure is aligned with Uganda Lacrosse Association’s (ULA) focus on preparing teams for international events, including the African qualifiers for the 2028 Olympic Games.
The 2025 UNLL season will continue in the coming weeks, with future fixtures to be announced by the league management.
