Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that striker Erling Haaland is “ready and fit” to return to action this weekend after recovering from an ankle injury sustained in March.
The Norwegian international was an unused substitute against Wolves last week and is now available for City’s remaining Premier League games, starting with Southampton on Saturday, and the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace.
Despite a period on the sidelines, Haaland has scored 21 Premier League goals this season.
In a recent interview, he suggested a lack of “hunger” had impacted City’s performance this year, a sentiment Guardiola encouraged the team to discuss internally.
Haaland’s return is a timely boost for City as they fight for a top-five Premier League finish and prepare for the FA Cup final.
