KCCA have officially confirmed the return of defender Herbert Achayi, who rejoins the club on a two-year contract after a season with Express.
The fullback becomes the third addition to the club in the current transfer window, following Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Lazaro Muhindo.
Achayi first rose through the KCCA Soccer Academy ranks before becoming a senior team regular in 2017.
He spent seven seasons at the club before departing at the end of the 2023/24 campaign when his contract expired.
Now, just a year later, he’s back to reinforce a squad that’s gunning for silverware next season.
During his time at Express, Achayi made 22 league appearances, logging 1,980 minutes — a sign of his durability and consistency.
KCCA are counting on Achayi’s versatility and experience to stabilize the backline as they push for top honours.
Capable of playing across the entire defensive line, he brings a combination of leadership, composure, and familiarity with the club culture.
Achayi is currently with the Uganda Cranes camp ahead of the CHAN 2024 tournament.
