Coach Eric Chelle is leading a camp of 28 players, all vying for a spot on the final squad. The Home Eagles will kick off their Group D campaign on August 7 against reigning champions Senegal in Zanzibar, followed by matches against Sudan and Congo.
Rangers forward Godwin Obaje emphasized the strong team unity, stating, “All of us are like brothers… I’m prepared, and we need to give our best.”
Haruna Hadi of Remo Stars sees CHAN as a crucial step for his international career, saying, “This is like a dream come true for me—a stepping stone to the next level.”
Kwara United’s Kabiru Mohammed praised Coach Chelle’s demanding style, noting, “He loves aggressive football, and training under him has been intense.”
With the tournament exclusively for domestic league players, Nigeria aims to make a significant impact and challenge for the title when the competition concludes on August 30.
