Granit Xhaka’s move back to the Premier League is gaining traction, with newly promoted Sunderland reportedly reaching an agreement with the midfielder for €10 million annually.
Despite initial opposition from coach Erik ten Hag, Bayer Leverkusen has now set an asking price of around €20 million (£17m/$23m) for the Swiss international.
Bayer Leverkusen Sporting Director Simon Rolfes confirmed a decision is expected this week, stating the conditions for the transfer are known.
Should the deal go through, Leverkusen will need to quickly find a replacement for the integral midfielder.
